Workshops are scheduled as requested and are offered at our home in Essex or can be presented at your home. Minimum 4 participants; dates and times are flexible. This is a great ladies-night out, or a family activity! Pick your topic.
ALL ABOUT CHOCOLATE
Just what the name implies: come learn all about chocolate. Taste different types and origins, learn about what chocolate really is, and try your hand at tempering. A tasty and informative evening!
$25 for adults; $15 for children 12 and under (with a parent)
Tasty Truffles
The name “truffle” has so many meanings in confections these days. Our focus will be on the original, old-fashioned, hand-rolled chocolate truffle. Learn how to make and store ganache for centers, and roll your own truffles in traditional and seasonal flavors. Participants will take home their own creations.
Creating Caramel Treats
Making caramel at home can be an intimidating proposition; let us help take the fear out of such a wonderful and versatile candy. Learn about the properties of caramel and create treats to bring home, including open-faced turtles.
Dipping & Decorating
The key to making beautiful chocolates is being able to temper chocolate at home, which is a skill that unfortunately eludes many home confectioners. This workshop addresses hand-tempering chocolate, with a focus on skills and equipment. Participants will learn how to dip and decorate items with a professional feel and will take home their creations.
“Candymaker For A Day” Birthday Parties Looking for a memorable birthday party? Here it is! Children become candymakers for the day (well, for a couple hours, anyway) and get hands-on experience making delicious confections to take home. Participants will also receive a certificate of graduation, and pricing includes a custom chocolate cake-topper for the birthday child. Scheduling is flexible, and parties can be offered at our home in Essex or at your home. Pricing is $30 per child, with a minimum of 4 children. The Cocoa Belt is glad to schedule small groups (e.g., Scout troops) for demonstrations. Please inquire about availability and pricing. ______________________________________
